The Very Hungry Caterpillar

The Very Hungry Caterpillar

A lot of clients come to me feeling like The Very Hungry Caterpillar. They are constantly snacking and never feeling full.

Yet they believe they are doing all the right things.

They are working hard to improve their nutrition habits but to no avail.

This is often because they are not getting the basics right first.

There are no good or bad foods.

Sure there can be optimal and less optimal foods if you are training for something specific. But this is not important for most people. Most people need to first understand balance and the basics.

Are you having well portioned meals during the day?

Do these meals contain adequate portions of protein that will make you feel more satiated?

Are your meals high volume and containing decent portions of vegetables/fruit?

Are you distracted when eating?

Are you honouring your cravings? This doesn’t mean eating the whole family sized bar of chocolate but could you have a small portion?

Because if all you want is chocolate but you are depriving yourself and instead eating everything but the thing you actually want - you’re probably better off having a bit of chocolate.

If you are constantly snacking and yet never feel full, then could we conclude that hunger might also not be the problem?

It’s often not the food that’s the issue but the relationship around it.

And if you are not getting the answers you want, it’s time to start asking different questions.

As a coach, I help you look at the whole picture.

Please send me a message if you want to get some different answers.

Big love, Meg 💛✨
